I work with ambitious professionals and students who struggle with perfectionism, anxiety, low self-esteem and difficulty living up to their potential and/or finding joy in their achievements. I support individuals who are interested in cultivating a kinder way of relating to themselves.
I see each client as a unique individual and approach the work in that way. Together we use the initial part of our work to discuss your current challenges and treatment goals and identify the core areas that make the most sense to focus on going forward. We periodically evaluate our work to determine if it is continuing to best serve you and your treatment needs.
My office is located in the Rockridge district of Oakland about a block from the Rockridge BART station. There is nearby on-street parking and A/C transit stops are close by.
I believe that both in-person psychotherapy and online psychotherapy can be beneficial and effective for people and that some individuals are better served by participating in in-person treatment. For some individuals, meeting in-person in a private office space outside of one's home, office or car, can provide an emotionally safer space to meet in, allowing an individual to potentially more fully benefit from a treatment. Some individuals can feel more connected to their therapists by meeting in-person and can feel more enlivened through the process of participating in in-person psychotherapy treatment. I value creating spaces for individuals to participate in treatment in ways that work best for them and consequently offer both in-person and telehealth.
